BA – BACHELORTHESIS

This course is an experimental course: an exercise in design leniency. It challenges students to continually define and re-define their position with respect to basic themes  in architectural design, such as scale, place and time, as well as socio-economic and (geo-)political contexts. The iterative design process is a fundamental part of the project.

BA/MA – SEMINAR

‘Radical Architecture’ refers to the Radical Design movement from the 1960’s and 1970’s, that presented visions of possible futures as a means of critique and provocation. Among others we will discuss the work of Superstudio, Archizoom associates and Peter Cook. Their eccentric output broke with what they saw as the normative thinking of the past to shape a future free of war, inequality, materialism and other human ills.
